DOUBLE INDEMNITY
DOUBLE INDEMNITY WEDNESDAY 6 BENNY THE BAT=TASTAHIL | |
This system picks the winner of a selected race 90% of the time,but it involves backing on two horses in each race. a copy of the Mirror is required and the system works over both flat and nh. For flat racing use any race with Maiden in its title. For nh use any race with Novice in its title, Under both rules Never back in any race with selling in the title. This may be shown as (s ) h cap hurdle,the s indicates selling With both types of racing on most days is possible to combine both rules in the same bet. Haveing located all suitable races,note the Spot horse the SF 9 strongly fancied 0 and f ( Fancied ) horse in each of the selected races,In theory these could be different horses and if this is the case then there is NO BET in that race, In most cases the SPOT horse will be either the SF OR F horse,it doesnt matter which of these has the SPOT as long as one of them does In the selected races Horses that are SPOT and f win 50% of the time Horse that are SPOT and sf win 60% of the time if both selections are backed and as long as one them has the SPOT then one of these will win in 90% of races Mathematically two 90% chances will wina double 81% of the time Thats is 8 winning doubles out 10 Aim to choose two suitable races per day and couple two horses in the first race with two horses in the second race,thats is a perm of 2 x 2 and equals 4 doubles,at £1 = £4 stake. Any winning double with both selections winning at 11/10 would be a break even and with any selction over 11/10 would represent a profit sunday bet came up 4/9 7/2 |
Daily Mirror Daily Double System
Based on the abbreviations printed in brackets after the jockey's name as follows:
SF =Strongly Fancied to win
F =Fancied to win
EW =Each way Fancied to be placed 1st, 2nd, 3rd
Only use races of 8, 9, or 10 runners maximum.
Starting with 8 runners find the strongly fancied marked (SF) horses with starting price forecast
of 6/1 or more.
If there are no 8 runner races with SF horses at 6/1 then move to 9 runner races etc
If this produces no selections, start again at 8 runner races find the Fancied (F) horses then on
to the Each Way horses if there are no F horses with an SP of 6/1 up.
Continue until you get a maximum of two runners.
Back these 0.5 point each way each and a small each way double
If you only find one horse then back it each way.
If no horses are found then no bet.
If you find more than two apply the following rules:
Flat races: Horses running over a longer distance are preferred
National Hunt: horses running over hurdles are preferred to horses running over fences.
Distance is irrelevent
If you have two identical types of races pick the horse with the lowest SP

F =Fancied to win

The Ease of Life system, presumably so named because it's for lazy punters who can't be bothered to study form.
The rules are as follows, you need the Racing Post or at least access to their website for this:
1) Postdata, Topspeed and the Black Dot must all name/indicate the same single selection.
2) All selections must have run and completed in the last 30 days.
Now apply the following rules to initial selections:

Now apply the following rules to initial selections:
1) Do not use joint top rated. Selections must be clear top in all categories.
2) Do not use All Weather. Selections must apply only to turf meetings and turf form and do not bet on heavy ground.
3) Do not back selections at less than 4/9 or shorter.
The claim is that 'by following these rules you should now expect a 50% strike rate at an average price of all bets of 2/1'.
I've decided to bend the rules a bit, and the 'must have previously run and completed within the previous 30 days' must be more flexible, particularly over the jumps. To me some horses need a rest between races, and unless the selection has been off the course for a seriously long time then I don't see why we shouldn't back it.
The 'don't back on heavy ground' has to be more flexible too. Fair enough if the going has changed overnight to heavy, but a lot of horses are better over heavy ground. If the trainers know the ground is heavy and still run their horses, as is the case at Newcastle today, then they must be happy with it.
Also ignoring the 'don't back at 4/9 or less rule', a winner is a winner to me.
Anyway, since Tuesday the results are as follows:
11 runners
